Octagon wins New Zealand Equities Fund of the Year
Octagon Asset Management (“Octagon”) is pleased to announce that it has won the coveted “New Zealand Equities Fund of the Year” award at the Research IP 2022 Fund Manager of the Year Awards.
The awards identify the top-performing money managers in multiple categories including Fund Manager of the Year, Boutique Manager of the Year, KiwiSaver Manager of the Year and Responsible Investment Manager of the Year.
Commenting on the award, Octagon Chief Investment Officer and New Zealand Equities Portfolio Manager Paul Robertshawe said, “Octagon launched almost a year ago as an active investment manager with the simple goal of building our business by putting our clients’ interests first. Rising inflation and interest rates, along with increased geopolitical tensions, meant this was a tough year for returns in equity markets, but we are pleased with the value we have added to our clients given that back drop.”
In addition to winning the New Zealand Equities Fund of the Year Octagon was also a finalist in the Australasian Property Fund of the Year and a finalist in the Boutique Fund Manager of the Year awards.
“We have built an investment team of seven with nearly 100 years of combined investment experience between them, with many years working together at previous organisations. We believe active investment works and have the discipline, focus, skill and experience to deliver strong outcomes for our investors,” Paul added.
