Wellington, 25 September 2023 – Octagon Asset Management (“Octagon”) announced that three of the investment funds it manages are now available for New Zealanders to invest in via the InvestNow platform.

Octagon is part of the Forsyth Barr Group and was launched in 2021 as a standalone specialist investment manager within the Group. Led by experienced Chief Investment Officer Paul Robertshawe, Octagon has built a specialist team of fund managers and analysts in Wellington, Auckland and Queenstown.

The Octagon funds available on InvestNow – the New Zealand Equities Fund, the Australian Equities Fund and the Multi-asset class Balanced Fund – are typical of those offered by an active manager and offer a range of options. “The two single asset class funds can be used as building blocks of a portfolio or, depending on investment objectives and needs, an investor can get an off-the-shelf diversified portfolio by using just the Balanced Fund,” said Matt.

Octagon Funds available on InvestNow:

• New Zealand Equities Fund
  Managed by Octagon’s CIO Paul Robertshawe, the fund aims to achieve positive long-term returns by investing mostly in New Zealand shares. The fund can invest in ASX listed shares where the company has meaningful operations in New Zealand.
  
  
• Australian Equities Fund
  Managed by Octagon’s Head of Equities Jason Lindsay, the fund aims to achieve positive long-term returns by investing mostly in Australian shares. The fund can invest in NZX listed shares where the company has meaningful operations in Australia.
  
  
• Balanced Fund
  A multi-asset fund, the Balanced Fund aims to achieve positive long-term returns by selecting a mix of cash, fixed interest, equity and property investments.
